Students will explore the Lyndon B Johnson's Great Society programs of the 1960s . Students will share the research that they do in a speed-dating style using a student created flyer.
Student will be assigned a Great Society Act or program. They will research that program and complete a profile graphic organizer. Then, they will create a flyer (digital or hand drawn) to inform others of the purpose of their program. Students will then be arranged in a speed dating set up. They will meet with other members of the class to learn about the other programs and complete their graphic organizer. After "dating" all of their classmates they will write a one paragraph response in which they argue which Great Society program was most important.
