This is a powerpoint of basic information that is appropriate for K/1 graders. Regarding the powerpoint, you can disregard the last "my experience slide." I put that in there because most students love hearing about their teachers experiences. The lesson plan can take up to an hour if you do these other activities that I have not attached. You can also read the the story of "Meng Jiangnu Weeps," which can be found online. You can discuss the word "loyalty." I tend to teach one of two good character lessons within my lesson. Regarding the video, before they watch the vide, prompt them to think about how hard it was to build the great wall by looking at the terrains and think about the weather. Last but not least, I made my own coloring page of the Great Wall with big visible bricks. The activity is to color each individual brick a different color so they can get the sense of the hard work of brick by brick.
