I wanted to create a fun game that brought every math skill I work on with my students into one fun and exciting activity. Skills involved in this board game are: using money, reading a menu, number sense, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, figuring tax, figuring tip, estimation, time, months and days of the week. Students move around the board earning money for answering questions and buying/selling items.
This purchase comes with: 1 full page board for the game. Can be enlarged. Game rules and key. 1 sample menu. 166 drawing cards. 48 word problem cards involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. 48 Time cards involving adding and subtracting time, months and days. 70 chance cards involving number sense, estimation, tax, tip and chance.
In order to get the most out of this game you will need dice, play money, play coins and menus. You can use up to 8 menus to play this game. I based this game on menus I have in my room. I cannot sell them on here. I did make a sample menu that you can use to make more menus. You can also make menus with word templates, board maker, or just grab some from online websites.
I hope you enjoy this game. It is a great way to promote cooperative learning and give students and chance to act out all the skills they have learned. It is also great to have around for any day you want to do something different!
