Ever wanted to be something different? The triangle did! Students will love this lesson about a triangle wanting to change it's shape. Based off the book The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns, this lesson has a little bit of everything from math to writing.
-read The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns
-complete a chart of the shapes named in the book, naming the number of sides and angles
-identify the types of angles of each shape (right, acute, obtuse)
-write about the shape they would like to be
-look back in the story to complete the chart of things each shape could be (must refer to the text to complete)
-play a matching game (two levels - first is shape name and # of sides and angles (16 cards), second is very simple with shape and picture(8 cards)
