A very Grinch-y Christmas!
This close reading activity is for use with the Dr. Seuss book: How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It includes 15 character traits displayed by the characters (The Whos, The Grinch) throughout the story. Can your students locate and identify evidence of all 15? Also applicable to Max, the Grinch's dog. We wrote him in for a couple.
*honesty, forgiveness, generousy, polite, kindness, love, courage, perseverance, optimistic, loyal, deceitful, selfish, destructive, jealous, cunning*
This is a very open-ended activity. Students can identify if characters portray certain traits throughout the entire story or if characters gain character traits. Think about the antonyms for these traits, do these apply?
