The Gruffalo Vocabulary Link-Up

The Gruffalo Vocabulary Link-Up
Product Description
This activity is designed to help teach some of the difficult vocabulary words found in 'The Gruffalo'.

Students work with a partner and take turns drawing lines to connect a vocabulary word from the 1st column to any word in the 2nd column and then fill in the box in the 3rd column explaining why they made that connection.

For example: They might connect 'crumble' with 'rumble' because they rhyme, or 'creature' with 'wood' because creatures live in the woods, etc.

There are no 'right or wrong' answers but the words they connect must make sense in some way, the idea is to tie vocabulary words to other words thereby creating a 'linking' strategy (each word has an obvious complimentary word to help guide them but they may be able to make connections between other words as well).
