Harlem Renaissance is a project based activity where students have to find out on their own what Renaissance means, when it happened, and what it was about. They have to search for the information in order to learn about Harlem Renaissance and to answer some questions. Then, they will work on another project by choosing a person that lived and created pieces of arts during the Harlem Renaissance. They will search for information about this person’s life and career, and represent this person from his or her own perspective by creating an eBook. Reading skills and writing skills will be addressed while working on the project. Students will have fun working on the project in the English, Read 180, or Art classes.
