These are guided notes to help students learn the history of Atomic Theory. This covers Democritus, Aristotle, Dalton, Thompson, Rutherford, Bohr, Schrodinger and Heisenberg. It includes the guided notes and a reading passage for each scientist.
This can be used as an individual activity, or as a group activity. I usually have student work in groups to complete ONE note section that I've enlarged. After the group completes it, and checks it with me, they hang it on the wall. Students then travel “carousel style” to get the notes from other groups. This way, the students are teaching themselves and not listening to me lecture for an entire class period. I also post the reading passages on Edmodo for the students to go back and read.
