Wandering the Maze is a fun activity for students after they have finished reading The Hobbit. Students respond to 62 short answer questions from the text. After answering the questions, or during the process, they go to the Maze Chart connecting their responses to find their way through the maze. The answer may be left or right, up or down, or at an angle. The answer key to the maze chart has a number code that follows the questions. The maze chart contains over 111 possible answers that come from the text. This is a good and quick activity for students. It can also be used as a review before the test of the names, locations, and items of importance in the text. Students can work independently or in groups to respond to the questions.
There is an answer key for the maze questions as well as an answer key for the chart itself.
