The sources includes;

(1.) "Indifference" painting created by Fritz Hirschberger

(2.) Intelligence report of First Lieutenant Kurt Gerstein.

(3.) Aerial photograph of Aushwitz III, the Monowitz-Buna camp, taken on January 14, 1945.

(4.) RA photograph of Buchenwald inmates on liberation day, April 16, 1945.

Each document has 1-4 questions each to help students analyze the sources and understand the time period. (Total Questions 14.)

Finally two short writing prompt exists at the end of the activity directing students to; Quick Write: Why do tourists travel to places such as Aushwitz today? What can we learn from visiting those types of places?

Quick Write: Why is it important for future generations to never forget the atrocities of the Holocaust?
