I’ve been using the “Homework Black Book” in my classroom for the past 4 years. It is a huge time saver and makes it super easy when dealing with students who do not complete homework! When students do not complete a homework assignment, they sign the Homework Black Book. (Each student has his/her own page in the Homework Black Book.) You don’t have to write anything down… the student does all the work! When it comes time for a parent-teacher conference, or if a parent is concerned about his/her child’s grades, I just whip out my Homework Black Book, and BAM! immediate documentation of missed homework assignments, and possible reasons why his/her child is struggling in a particular subject. Using this in my classroom has also given my students ownership of their learning and teaches them to be responsible.
There are two options for printing:
1. Print in color
2. Print in black on colored card stock or colored copy paper
**Be sure to print one copy of the log sheet for each student in your class.
