Help struggling students with guided annotations for "The House on Mango Street." Guided annotations were created with differentiation in mind as well as working towards asking students to develop a thematic statement.
- A Smart Cookie
- Boys and Girls
- Rafaela Who Drinks Coconut and; Papaya Juice on Tuesdays
In a classroom filled with diverse learners, these guided annotations are perfect when it comes to differentiating instruction. The guided annotations will allow for some students to annotate independently (or as a whole class), while their same age peers are annotating without prompting questions. In each vignette, students will be asked to identify and explain literary devices, make inferences, and draw conclusions.
* Rafaela Who Drinks Coconut and; Papaya Juice on Tuesdays additionally has instructions for the use of assessment. This can always be deleted and used as classroom or homework guided annotations. Likewise, the directions can always be added to Boys and Girls and A Smart Cookie.
