This unit plan is over 50 pages and 14 individual lessons long! Includes a traditional 4MAT Wheel using IF, WHY, WHAT, and HOW to answer the Essential Question: How does government affect our daily lives? It focuses on themes like internal vs. external conflict within the main characters. It relates to outside material like the US Bill of Rights and connects the students to the possibility of the dictatorship in The Hunger Games being an actual option in our daily lives. This unit also includes writing activities with self and peer assessments, two PowerPoint Presentations, a Final Photography Project, and Discussion Group organization with roles. There are also several popular activities made by Beers and Burke and some CARS activities. Finally, there is also additional information about differentiation for students with ADD/ADHD and those who are Hearing Impaired. This is my first big product for TpT, so please let me know what you think!
P.S. This unit would be an awesome way to incorporate Social Studies in the English classroom!
