Natural Selection Activity (Natural Selection Game)

This is a comprehensive, math-based game of natural selection.
It is recommended for high school biology or advanced middle school.

Students represent a population of leopards that have a total of 6 genetic variants among them. Students will play as one (or two) variations as they are put through Mother Nature's wroth.

Students keep track of the frequencies of the variations over a period of time, as they go down or up depending on if their variation was favored (or not).

The winner is whichever variation has managed to increase the most after surviving 10 rounds of environmental chaos.

**Please Consider**
This is not designed to do on the fly. Please allow yourself at least 2 days before attempting this activity so that you can read the directions thoroughly and decide how you want to implement the game in your classroom, as there are a few different options.

This is math centered activity. There are 2 math data tables and a graphing exercise. A shortened version is included that only uses 1 data table (no graphing).

This is editable so that you can tailor it to meet your needs. Because this activity is intricate, it may not be a one-size fits all.
