Product Description
A timely group activity and discussion that helps students analyze the connections they've made and reactions they've had to The Hunger Games as the movie comes out on DVD.

If you're anything like me, a big Hollywood movie about a book you love makes you very anxious. Will they get it right? Will the movie stay true to your first memory of reading the book? Will they include your favorite little scene or line of dialogue?

For me, Rue's death was this incredibly emotional experience. I don't know that I've ever had such a moving connection to a character or a scene in any other book. So when I watched the movie, that was a scene I desperately hoped they'd get right.

Some scenes in the movie turned out perfectly. But others, for me, didn't quite match with my version of the movie (the one I made in my head as I read the book). So what if I could go back in time and make the movie myself? What choices would I have made? That is the purpose of this activity.

This download comes with a colorful worksheet for students, and a teacher's guide with instructions and links to Common Core Standards.
