Class Goals and Objectives

Do you know what the goals and objectives are for your class? You want to have overarching goals and objectives for the entire duration of the class.

You then want to have learning objectives for each class. That will help you align the educational resources with the goals and objectives for each class.

Age-Appropriate

You might come across a killer lesson plan or resource for your class. It may be a little outside of their reach because it’s not age-appropriate.

If you do get a resource that’s outside of the age group you’re teaching, make adjustments so it’s age-appropriate.

How Will It Help Students?

You want to understand specifically how the resource will help students. Will it help solidify a concept? Does it give them background information for greater understanding?

Have a specific idea as to how an educational resource will help your students. You might teach Spanish and need a way to help students conjugate verbs in the future tense.

You can choose an educational resource that shows students how to read Spanish to spot future tense verbs and write sentences in the future tense.

Challenge the Students

Your students are going to have either fixed or growth mindsets. Those with a growth mindset are eager to learn and be challenged. Those with fixed mindsets don’t want to fail and don’t like to be challenged.

With that in mind, you can use educational resources to challenge your students. You can also work with the fixed mindset students to make learning more enjoyable.

Clarity Matters

Teacher clarity takes your goals and objectives to the next level. You know your goals and objectives for your students. Do they know your goals and objectives?

Teacher clarity sets those expectations with your students. You express what they’re going to learn and how. When you introduce the educational resources to the class, they’ll understand how those resources fit with the lesson.

They’ll not only know what they’re going to learn but why. That goes a long way to get them more engaged in what they’re learning.

Find the Perfect Educational Resources

Educational resources can help you make your lesson plans to stick with your students. They’re proven to improve learning and get students more interested in their classwork.

You have to wade through a lot of information to find the right resources for your class. You want to make sure that they’re aligned with your goals and objectives for the class.
