Do you want a fun and creative way to have your students learn about 3-dimensional shapes? My students always learn, and subsequently, score better when they are actively engaged, taking part in their own learning with concrete examples that they can personally interact with and manipulate.
You, too, can get ready for state testing with an activity that provides ample opportunities for students to interact with common core curriculum.
Students will work independently or with a partner to sort out actual images of everyday objects into their respective space figure categories.
Students will then use these images to create their very own Important Book about Geometry.
In addition, students will create their very own 3-dimensional shapes and identify the attributes of each to add to their books.
Solid figure nets included in this download are: sphere, cube, cylinder. rectangular prism, cone, and square pyramid.
Everything needed to complete this activity is provided in the download. Please see the preview for a look at all of the pages included.
