This presentation gives historical information about the Inca. There are examples of masks made by the Inca and historical information regarding their use. Design elements are discussed and broken down into simple shapes to illustrate the use of geometric and symmetrical designs. There are examples of masks made from different materials as well as links to more information about specific cultures along the west coast of South America. This will be a great visual reference for the art of metalworking and mask making with students studying South American Art.
