Pg. 7 Roll and Spell – roll the dice to see what you will use to write your spelling words, marker, crayon, colored pencil, pen, pencil, or your choice – write each spelling word three times
Pg. 8-10 Make a Spelling Word! – Copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the solid lines – take the base word and the suffix that are on the flaps – open up the flaps and write the spelling word it makes – write each spelling word two times
Pg. 11-13 My Comprehension Flip It! – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid line, cut on the dotted lines and fill out
Pg. 14-15 Mail Call! – color each envelope depending on what type of abbreviation it is – write the word that matches the abbreviation in the correct box below
Pg. 16-18 Suffixes – copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines – Write six base words in the base word box (check to make sure they are six adjectives) add –er and –est to each base word and write them onto the lines in the –er and –est boxes – choose two of the words in each box -flip up the flap to use them in sentences that show the meanings of the words
Pg. 19-20 Possessive Nouns and Possessive pronouns – a foldable book – take each noun and turn it into a possessive noun and use it in a sentence – then take the noun and turn it into a possessive pronoun and use it in a sentence
Pg. 21-24 My Travel Journal – copy pages A and B back to back for the center pages – copy the cover – staple them together – Pretend you are Oliver and tell what happened when you were on the reservation – illustrate it
Pg. 25-29 ______ or Bust! – a craft and writing activity – Pretend you are Oliver – Where would you want to go? – Fill in the blank - tell about your journey with great details – copy the patterns onto appropriate colored paper and glue together as seen in the example
Pg. 30-33 Sequence of Events – fold the paper in half and glue the sides to form an envelope – write the story in sequential order on the postcards and place them in the envelope – see if a friend can put the story in order
