The Kid-Friendly Self-Assessment Rubric is a kid-friendly rubric that uses a weather theme for students to self-assess and monitor their progress by holding up the corresponding number of fingers. The four-point rubric includes:
Sunny - (1) I can do it without mistakes. I can help others.
Partly Sunny - (2) I can do it by myself. I make little mistakes.
Cloudy - (3) Sometimes I need help. I am starting to understand.
Rainy - (4) I can't do it by myself. I don't understand yet.
This product includes the following:
A large 8 1/2 x 11 poster of each rating to display in the classroom
A student sheet of the rubric for the students to keep in a folder
A small rubric to be taped onto the students' desktops
This product meets or exceeds the Common Core Standards and supports the learnings of Dr. Robert Marzano.
