This is a CCSS-aligned teaching packet for the Kill Order (the prequel to the Maze Runner trilogy). This includes character chart, vocabulary in four parts, response questions, and chapter check questions that can be used for comprehension checks, homework, independent study, or pop quizzes. The vocabulary is divided into four parts, and each part has three quiz versions to limit cheating and increase mastery.
Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence when writing or speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text.
Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in the text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the cumulative impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone (e.g., how the language evokes a sense of time and place; how it sets a formal or informal tone).
