Product Description
"The Kindness Quilt" is a great book that introduces the concept of random acts of kindness that we can all do for each other. Amazon describes it as follows:

"Minna and her classmates have been asked by their teacher, Mrs. Bloom, to work on a Kindness Project. Mrs. Bloom wants them to do and draw and share an act of kindness. Minna and her family do lots of kind things, but Minna can’t decide which one is right for her project. Then she starts writing and drawing and cutting—and an idea for a paper quilt picturing many acts of kindness begins to take shape!

Important lessons about being kind to each other are depicted in NANCY ELIZABETH WALLACE’s charming artwork using origami, recycled paper, markers, crayons, and colored pencils."

This 15-slide PowerPoint guidance lesson incorporates 5 different videos relating to kindness and introduces the concept of "Paying It Forward" with acts of kindness.

There are links to five different videos- about kindness, random acts of kindness, and the book of "The Kindness Quilt" being read aloud showing the illustrations. Additionally, a "Kid President" video about kindness is included.

Additionally, there is a link to the Read.gov site that has the story of "The Mouse & the Lion" that you can read to student, if you wish.

Comprehension questions are included to help you to lead the students to a clear understanding of the message of the book.

I have included animation and transitions between slides so that it helps to hold the students' interest. I believe in making presentations colorful and captivating whenever possible. After all, we are competing with all sorts of electronic stimuli, and our message needs to be
