This study guide helps students understand the minute details of The King's Equal, by Katharine Paterson. Questions lead students to analyze character traits and why they take certain actions, understand difficult phrases (such as people "putting their affairs in order"), and encourages them to think about events that don't have an explanation in the story. (Why do you think the princess made the prince do a certain task before she married him?) Teacher's guide includes answers with page numbers for quick access during reading groups. Questions asking opinions reflect my own opinions, but can easily be changed to fit your own viewpoint.
