This is a bundle of writing prompts for The Kite Runner-I use them when teaching the novel in literature circles, but they can be used when reading the novel any other way as well. There are 6 sets of prompts (approximately 5 prompts per set) that move chronologically through the book. Each handout (1-6) has instructions at the top and is designed to be done as an in-class essay. Aside from organization and elaboration, there is one other writing goal to incorporate per week (using commas, colons, semicolons with conjunctive adverbs, etc.). There are multiple prompts per set so that the students can write on one prompt for the whole hour or several-the goal is to continue writing the whole time. These prompts were created in a variety of ways: myself, my students, and the Internet.
