The Leadership Journal, Vol. 3: Let's Connect (E-Book)

Designed as a tool for classrooms and mentoring groups, the Butterfly Dreamz Leadership Journal includes inspiring short stories, engaging discussion questions, and creative writing prompts that help girls develop their leadership, literacy, and social-emotional skills.

The theme of the 2022 Leadership Journal is Let's Connect. As we continue to navigate a global pandemic and fight societal injustices, this journal helps young leaders connect with themselves and others in meaningful and constructive ways. The journal explores two sub-themes:

1. Connecting with Self—Caring for ourselves, especially in the process of figuring out questions around identity and becoming a young adult; celebrating the victories and joys of self-discovery, learning from mistakes, etc.
2. Connecting with Others—Stories about loss, relationships, heartache, coming together, grief, resilience through the pandemic, etc. The power of community when we come together, how we collaborate, look out for, and take care of each other; the impact of seeing role models who share our background.

The Leadership Journal is created by the youth leaders in the Butterfly Dreamz Cocoon Club. There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to use it. Our hope is that it’ll be a powerful leadership tool for teen girls and their mentors.
