This is a reader's response activity that goes along with the book Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano. This is a great text to use when teaching students about inferencing. After reading, the students will be able to draw and write about the main character's feelings at the beginning of the story and how they have changed at the end of the story. The students will be using clues from the text in order to infer how Spookley is feeling.
*Updated November 2013 - includes pocket chart cards to help students identify appropriate feeling words for the main character at different points in the text.
