Back to School Math Activity - The Length of a Summer
The Length of a Summer is a perfect Back to School activity to get your students working with real-life math questions about how they spent their summer.
This real-life math application is a great activity for the first days of school. It gets your students thinking about how they spent their summer, and has them solving multi-step word problems that span the concepts of time, measurement, money, fractions, and more. This activity contains 27 different problems (in both American and Canadian versions), a problem-solving graphic organizer, calendars (includes a full set of calendars for 2015 to account for the different summer months around the globe), and a way to display the work to make a fabulous back-to-school bulletin board.
This activity is also included in my Back to School Bundle - Activities for the First Days of School.
