I am writing stories to help children learn their different letter sounds. I have found that children remember things learned in stories and thought that if I personified the letters that it may help them to learn their sounds and different phonics rule.
I offered the first set – the short vowel sounds – free on Teachers Pay Teachers.
This is my next collection - the Consonant Digraphs. This collection includes the digraphs ch, ph, sh, th, and wh. (Gh is not included due to the fact that it has multiple sounds - it will most likely be in a collection on its own)
I know there are so many different ways to show pronunciation marks on letters and sounds. I have tried to stick to the most common ones out there.
All graphics are my own made with free clip art on the web.
I appreciate feedback on how I can improve on these stories.
Once again, thanks for your interest in my stories and I hope you find them helpful with your students. Be sure to grab The Short Stories of the Vowels, which is free!
