This "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" homework activity, is meant for standard level students and teaches them to analyze the literature as a scaffolding tool.
Explanation of Skill Development/Directions
Night 1: You were asked to try your hand at annotating a short story using the blue bookmark given out in class. (It’s online, under resources> class info> How to annotate bookmark, if you lost it or missed class).
Night 2: Tonight’s homework is a follow up to that challenge. You may or may not have identified these topics as important during Night 1. If you did identify these topics or even parts of them, cool, you are on the right track. Keep it up! If you missed some of these topics/connections/emphasis on author’s diction (word choice), then you need to think more critically about what you read. Complete the following questions (as directed on the homework calendar) to close the gaps in what you may have missed on Night 1.
