This 16 page document includes a one page handout for each chapter of Part One of The Light Between Oceans, including the introduction. There are 10 pages of student work and 6 pages of answer key.
The students are required to look up 7-15 vocabulary words for each chapter, answer 3-5 short response, knowledge-based questions, answer 3-7 objective-based questions and occasionally analyze a meaningful quote.
Some of the objectives represented through the questions include things like: juxtapositions, themes, motifs, similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration, context clues, predictions and characterization.
This is a high-level activity and is best for honors level 8th grade and high school students as it requires critical thinking and deciphering text despite complexity.
