What if there was an impenetrable wall between the United States and all other countries? No one is allowed in and no one is allowed out. This is the premise of The Line, a wonderful novel by Teri Hall. This book club is meant to accompany this novel. With many dystopian novels hitting the shelves it is hard to sift through which ones might be right for your students. It is hard to know which ones are going to make your students really think about their world and enjoy reading along the way. I was able to cover so many social studies concepts while have students thinking deeply about literature. Students really love this book and get very involved in the creation of their dystopian societies at the end of this unit. This package should include everything you need to either do a small-group book club or a whole-class study of Teri Hall's "The Line."
This resource includes

-Student Comprehension and Deep-Thinking Questions
-Final Project (four parts for students to create their own dystopian society) and rubric.
