Thank you for previewing the sample Logic Puzzles which I have taken from my 3-volume collection of The Little Book of Logic Puzzles: 25 Puzzles That Will Make You Think. Each volume contains 25 puzzles similar in design and difficulty to the three samples contained in this download. I hope you will find that the puzzles challenge and entertain you. The Little Book of Logic Puzzles, Volumes #1, #2, and #3 contain many more puzzles like the ones found in this sample collection.
Each of the three sample puzzles is displayed on a two-page spread. The first page of the spread contains the Logic Puzzle sample, while the second page lists the answer and explanation. In my estimation, the first puzzle is fairly easy, while the second presents a medium challenge. The third might be considered by some to be somewhat difficult to solve. These three puzzles represent the range of levels of difficulty contained in the three volumes of The Little Book of Logic Puzzles.
The download you have received is in a Microsoft WORD format. This gives you the option to print the puzzles out on paper or solve them on the computer screen. A third option, that of displaying the puzzles on an overhead projector as part of a classroom or public presentation, can help you and the other solvers see and more clearly understand how the puzzle grids can be marked with “X’s” (to eliminate choices that can’t be), and “O’s” (to show the choices that must be), giving additional visual cues that will help you to correctly solve the puzzles.
Logic Puzzles are great tools for the development of reading comprehension and problem solving skills. Teachers, present them as an activity in your classroom to start the day, or at the start of a reading period. Use them to give your students a break from traditional reading exercises, while still providing them with a significant reading challenge. Consider adding a Logic Puzzle as an ungraded extra page to the end of a quiz or test, giving those students who finish the test quickly a puzzle to solve and something to do while others in the class are still completing their exams.
The Little Book of Logic Puzzles, Volumes #1, #2, and #3 contain a total of 72 additional puzzles that I am making available at a cost of less than 14¢ per puzzle. That’s a great investment to help keep students’ minds sharp while helping them develop their problem solving skills.
Please email me if you have any comments about the puzzles. I’d love to hear from you.
