The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything Game

This is a fun activity to use as a follow up to the story The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything! Dress the scarecrow to win the game!

• Children will each start with a matching set of color coded cards.
• Each card has one of the six clothing elements from the story (pants, shirt, shoes, hat, gloves, and the pumpkin head).
• Children will stack their cards and flip two cards over at a time
• Taking turns moving around the playing board and trying to get rid of all their cards!
• First one to give the scarecrow all the pieces of his outfit is the winner!

The game is for up to six players, so it is perfect for small literacy groups, a literacy center or for a follow up after a guided reading.

There are two levels of differentiation in this game. You can choose whichever level your students are ready for! Children can play with the clothing cards and match clothing to clothing or....play with the sound cards and match the clothing on the playing board to the sounds on their sound cards!

I have included instructions for playing and all of the materials you need to play!

You will only need to add a place holder (game pawn, math cube, eraser, etc.)!

There's a fun cut and paste follow up activity that follows the theme of the story.
