Product Description
Use this packet after reading "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything."

Have students retell the story by using pictures from the beginning (what happens first: "The little old lady left her cottage and went for a walk in the forest."), middle (the problem starts: "She met two big pairs of shoes, a pair of pants, other clothing, and a pumpkin."), and end (what happens at the end: "She saw a scarecrow in her garden the next day."). I also included a fourth illustration from the middle of the story ("She ran all the way home.") Students can also describe illustrations from the story by matching the four illustrations included in the packet to their descriptions and putting these in the correct order.

Please note, four illustrations and descriptions from the story are provided for a basic beginning, middle, and end retelling activity. These four illustrations can be seen in the thumbnail images provided.

Also, use the vocabulary words included to ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text. This includes 4 vocabulary cards. Vocabulary cards include the vocabulary word, part of speech, kid-friendly definition, and picture.
