This is an activity I did with my 3rd graders they really enjoyed. I read them the Lorax and we made a chart of things we could do to help protect our Earth. For the activity portion, I gave each student a Lorax "Truffula Tree." I then had the students write on the "Truffula tree leaves" portion what they could do to help out on Earth Day (i.e. recycle, clean up your neighborhood, etc). I let the students color the tree after they completed the writing portion and we cut out the tree and placed it on a piece of construction paper. I could not put two documents on a paper so the trunks to the trees are located under the preview :).
