PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Shirley Jackson, the author of The Lottery, uses several literary devices throughout the story. Setting, mood, foreshadowing and symbolism are a few of these devices. I created a powerpoint that can be used before reading the story. There is also a chart that students list examples of the literary devices and write the textual evidence from the story explaining it, this can be done during or after reading the story. There is also an assessment styled project that students can do after they read the story.
