This study guide forces the students to close read the short story, "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson. While reading the students must highlight and annotate certain aspects of the text. Upon highlighting this information, they must answer questions about that information. There are critical thinking questions, inferencing questions, as well as basic comprehension questions.
I used this in an inclusion class in order to ensure that my students were reading carefully and understanding the important information.
This was used as an introduction to "The Hunger Games"
