This is a fun activity to do in the early days of school. My students love it and always want to play it more than once. Basically, each student has a mini-bag of M&M’s and, depending on which color they draw out, they tell different things about themselves. Students first play in a large group with the visual display on the SMART Board, and then return to their table groups to play in small groups.
*NEWLY UPDATED* Aug. 2016: Now includes an editable version, and comes with paper “candy” if you can’t use real candy at your school!
Based on requests, The M&M Game is now editable, as long as you have PowerPoint. This allows you to play the game throughout the year for different purposes. Use in reading groups for different types of comprehension questions. Use whole-group to review categories of content information before testing. Use with other teachers at a staff meeting. The possibilities are endless! If you have already purchased this product, please download again to get the revised file!
This file comes in 3 formats: Smart Notebook, PDF and Editable PowerPoint. There is also a version with British spelling, (favourite vs. favorite).
