I play the Harry Potter instrumental music as kids enter the room and then perform "MATH MAGIC" using La Calabaza Mágica. This is my favorite activity to culminate our numbers unit in Spanish. My class gets to create their own "Calabaza Mágica" to take home to their family. We practice in partners during class. It is a fun way to reinforce using "Spanish numbers" in a natural language way.
*Read the instructions on how to create "The Magic Pumpkin." The magic pumpkin helps you guess the number a friend is thinking of.....it is math MAGIC! Your students will love this integrated activity that infuses foreign language learning with math, art, and a whole lot of fun!
*This is created as black and white masters so that you can copy them. Some people like to print it on white paper and allow the kids to color in the pages. I like to print the first and last page on orange card stock and the middle pages on plain white copy paper to create a booklet.
