A Magic Trick and a Puzzle
A two sided puzzle with two magic squares. One side of the puzzle has 5 parts that can be formed into a square. The face of the puzzle has 9 numbers on it in the 3 rows and 3 columns. The sum of the numbers in each row, column and both diagonals total 45. It’s a Magic Square.
Take away one piece of the puzzle and turn over the other 4 puzzle pieces. These 4 puzzle pieces can also be formed into a square. The sum of the numbers in each row, column and both diagonals total 15. It’s another Magic square.
When the puzzle part that was not used is turned over, the number showing on its face has predicted the magic sum for this square.
The file contains complete instructions as well as templates for making three different versions of the puzzle.
