A difficult skill to teach students is how to infer, or to read information and use what they know, to come up with correct conclusions. This center, The Magician That Made a Mistake, will assist you in doing just that! You will find everything you need included to help you teach the essential skill of inferring.
The center focuses on the idea that your class is attending a fieldtrip to a Magic Show and 7 of your students are chosen as volunteers. Once the magic words are said, POOF! they are turned into other "beings." Uh, oh. The Magician made a mistake! To change them back, your students must decide which being is which of their classmates by reading clue cards of their likes and dislikes. Finally, they complete a recording sheet for the center and have an extension printable to finish if you wish them to. This can be completed in small groups, at a center, or as a whole class activity.
You'll find directions for you, the students, an I Can Statement, Inferring Poster, and much more in this product. And you students will have so much fun while learning the skill of inferring!
