This is a week-long unit by Reading Through History that is geared towards reading test preparation for the 5th grade reading test (but it would be a great addition to any geography or world studies class). This download includes lessons covering the history of some of Paris' most amazing tourist attractions. The package includes writeups for Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triomphe. It also includes 19 pages of student activities that involve: constructed response paragraphs, vocabulary activities, a timeline activity, a compare and contrast section, and multiple choice quizzes to gauge reading comprehension. Every reading topic also includes questions geared toward the 4th and 5th grade Common Core literature and reading standards. Objectives include Key Ideas, Range of Reading, Key Ideas and Details, Range of Reading and Level of Text Complexity, Writing, and Fluency. The packet includes everything a social studies or reading teacher would need to cover a week in a standard class.
