PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The ship’s logs from the Speedwell and the Mayflower describe (for the most part) day-by-day events as the ships attempt to meet up and sail together to the “New World.” There are 2 versions of each of 3 logs: The Speedwell Log (8 pages), the Mayflower’s voyage and exploration of Cape Cod (37 pages), and the Mayflower’s winter harbor at Plymouth, New England (33 pages). A script version contains the original language (although not the original spelling) of the 3 ship’s logs, and a print version contains modern language, spelling and punctuation for easier student reading. Each log is printed on letter size paper, folded in half, and stapled to make a booklet that is 5.5X8.5 inches. The information is in the public domain, and is taken from a digitized version of The Mayflower and Her Log, by Azel Ames M.D., published before his death in 1908. This is an excellent primary source for elementary and middle school classrooms. Bon Voyage!
