Game to Review Novel. Intermediate Level.Moderate to Challenging Questions.Only those who read the book will win. Divide the class in 2 or more teams.Points can be used for extra credit. This game can be used as a review for the accompanying test(sold separately) and includes themes such as survival instinct and leadership qualities, vocabulary from the novel, sequence of events, character motivations. Establish rules before the game.
(1)Divide the class into Team A and Team B. I tell the class that whichever side gets the most points will receive five extra credit points on their final test (optional). Generally, start with opposite sides of the room and go down snakelike and start over again. Have someone keep track of points.
A.Establish rules: No shouting out answers at all if it’s not your
turn! The person who is answering the question may consult
with (only) one member of his team before the time is up.
That member must be to the left or right or just in front or
B. If student doesn’t know the answer, the question passes to
the other team. If he answers it wrong, those points are
subtracted from the main score. If someone shouts out the
answer, the question goes to the other team.
(2) The game is played with the first slide. The student choose which category and which slide. When it’s clicked with the mouse, the question appears. The students has 60 seconds to answer the question before it goes to the other team. Click on the check mark for the answer. Click on the home icon to return to the game.
(3) When a slide is has been clicked on, the color on the original game slide will darken to indicate that the question has been asked already
