PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Understanding the equal sign is one of the most important math skills, but can also be an incredibly difficult to fully understand.

I have created this mini packet with three different ways to practice the skill. All my activities integrate the use of the commutative property but can also be adapted to use different combinations that balance as well.
The activities include:

- Link it Up - Weighing, balancing and recording equations using unifix or linking cubes with sums of 10.

- Cut and Paste- Building pre-made equations to find which equations are equal, with a cut and paste recording sheet.

- Yum Yum Yum- A problem solving worksheet with cut and paste pictures to represent two balanced equations.

I have also included two anchor charts and a short description detailing each activity.
