Mighty Evergreen (Christmas Trees) Unit Including Art, Vocabulary, Sorting Trees, 5 Senses, Informational Writing, Narrative Writing, Needs of Living Things, Parts of Plants, Photography
I created this unit to take place of the tradition "Christmas" theme. I had 4 students in my class last year who did not celebrate Christmas. I tried to be sensitive to the needs of everyone in my classroom but still teach something that was close to the season. This is the unit that I came up with. My kids really enjoyed learning about the mighty evergreen....
The mighty evergreen- this unit is 25 pages of everything evergreen. This is what is included in the pages:
2-Instructions for an art project labeling the parts of an evergreen tree.
3-5- Pages for the art project
6-7 Vocabulary Cards
8- Sorting Trees- Deciduous and Evergreens
9- Evergreen senses (Smells, looks, feels, something that can be seen, another thing about the evergreen). I actually went to the local Xmas tree farm and got cuttings from trees to do this with....
