Students participate in 5 engaging stations to build their background knowledge about the play, The Miracle Worker. Students will: participate in a blindfolded trust walk, virtually tour Helen Keller's home, practice American Sign Language, view a clip from the movie, and listen to an interview with William Gibson, the playwright. The information these activities provide can be referred to as you teach the play.
My students LOVE this activity as it gets them up and moving, allows them to work both individually and collaboratively, and accesses their multiple intelligences. They especially love the trust walk!
By purchasing this product, you can access an editable Google Doc of the Station Guide. That way, you can change/add/delete questions as necessary for your class. I also include all the necessary links for each station, a thorough set-up guide, photos from my classroom, and task ideas for the trust walk.
I hope you and your students enjoy this product as much as we do! If you notice any errors or encounter any problems, please contact me!
