Retell Coins: p. 3-5 Print, cut, and laminate. Use for retelling the story and sequencing.
Character Coins: p. 6-8 Print, cut, and laminate. These can be used while telling the story and should be used with p. 28 for describing.
Sequencing: p.9-11 Directions on p. 9 &11.
Comprehension Questions: p. 12-16. Have your students color in the correct answer.
Yes/No Questions: p. 17 Print & laminate.
The Mitten Interactive Book: p. 18-23 Directions for assembling are on p. 24. Have your students make inferences by guessing which animal is inside the mitten.
The Mitten Bingo: 25-27 Print, cut, and laminate. Provide each student with a Bingo board and chips. This can be used to identify characters when described, identify animals, labeling, etc.
Let’s Describe! : p. 28 Print and laminate. Use with the Character Coins. Have your students choose a character and place it in the circle. They will use the lines to the right to describe the character.
Describing: P. 29-31 Provide each student with a worksheet. Place a paper clip on the wheel and use a pencil to hold it in place. Spin the spinner and describe the pictured object.
Compare & Contrast: p.32-33 Provide each student with a worksheet. Have your students write similarities/differences in the diagram.
Prepositions: p. 34-35 Provide each student with a copy. Directions are on each worksheet.
Following Directions: p.36 Print & laminate. Cut off the bottom portion of the paper and cut out the characters. Read the directions to your students. They will complete the directions using the characters from the story.
Comparative & Superlative: p.37-39 Print, cut, and laminate p. 38-39. Directions on p. 37
Analogies: p. 40 Print, cut, and laminate. Have your students draw a card and complete the analogy.
Vocabulary Puzzles: p. 41-44 Print, cut, and laminate. Place the puzzle pieces mixed up on the table and have your students match the pieces. Vocabulary worksheets (p.45-46) can be sent home for additional practice.
Spin & Write Verb Tense: p. 47-48 Provide each student with a worksheet. Place a paper clip on the wheel and use a pencil to hold it in place. Spin the spinner and write the past, present, and future tense of each verb.
/s,r,l/ Articulation Game boards: p. 52-54 Print and laminate. These can be used with bingo chips, daubers, play-doh, etc. Have your student make their way around the game board practicing their target speech sound.
