I have used The Money Game in my classroom last year, and the kids loved it! They have asked if we can play it again, so I have created a more creative and detailed game out of it.
The Money Game will teach children about real life as they get paid for coming to school, have to pay taxes, rent and start businesses. Students learn about saving and budgeting their money, and accumulating interest on the money that they save.
The money game is a full on game that should last all term. I found that my students were really engaged with the whole challenge of it, and they became really involved with the real life aspect.
Students learn about what it's like to be a member of society and learn life skills that they most likely won't learn otherwise.
