This is a somewhat humorous and ironic Reader's Theater script for "The Monkey's Paw". It is a great review of the plot events, as well as a fun chance to practice reading fluency. ****UPDATE: This resource is NOT intended to replace the text, nor is it designed as a full-length script-version of the classic tale. It is simply a skit that reviews the general events and practices reading fluency. This resource is best used as a supplement to having already taught the full story. ***** An extended version, alongside the original, will be posted soon.
I created this Readers' Theater at the request of my students, who love ANY excuse to role-play a story we have read! The skit pokes a little fun at some of the characters, such as how Mr. White ignores Morris' repeated warnings about the cursed paw.
This skit includes 6 roles (all of the speaking characters in the story, plus a narrator).

The Readers Theater was good fun, and really helped my students better understand the story, plot events, and characters. Also great for practicing fluency.
**I really hope you enjoy the Readers' Theater. Please give feedback; I'm always looking to improve these things!**
